This important role requires the following skills
and responsibilities:

AutoCAD proficient with working cad
drawings. |

Ability to design complex plumbing systems |
|
Develop sections and elevations of complex
equipment and piping areas |
|
Develop equipment room sizes during SD and
DD phases |
|
Edit specifications to reflect the project
requirements |
|
Direct Designer on a daily basis – if
required for project delivery |
|
Select and schedule equipment with limited
oversight |
|
Meet with vendors to determine
specification requirements for application |
|
Performs field verification and take-offs
of existing systems for renovation projects |
|
Coordinates with other disciplines (mepfp,
arch, struct, etc) for all plumbing details |
|
Critically evaluate contractor pricing and
cost estimates |
|
Maintain the Engineering Book for the
project |
|
Respond to RFI’s for the project, and
accurately review submittals |
|
Understand work planning and manage design
process to the available hours in work plan |
|
Work with PC, PM, and Clients to meet
scheduled project milestones of multiple projects |
|
Solve installation problems with plumbing
systems, travel to the site to resolve issues |
|
Code research to comply with various
plumbing codes, and meet with code officials |

As a Plumbing/Fire
Protection Senior Specialty Designer, you will be responsible for
the technical design of Plumbing/Fire Protection systems for
buildings. In this position, you will coordinate the work of other
technical team members in producing final drawings and completing
design tasks. You will provide technical leadership, mentoring and
guidance to team members as well as schedule, plan, conduct and
coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work assigned to you.
Qualified
candidates will possess CPD certification and 8-10 years experience
designing plumbing & fire protection systems in an A/E environment.
Extensive healthcare facility design experience required. Specialist
expertise in plumbing/fire protection systems required with solid
knowledge of parallel disciplines. Proven ability to plan, organize
and provide direction to a team of professionals in a high
production engineering environment. Commitment to accuracy,
precision and engineering excellence required. Excellent

Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer I/II
As a Plumbing and
Fire Protection Designer, you will use AutoCAD to design plumbing
and fire protection systems for state of the art buildings. These
systems may include medical gases, piping and equipment for
healthcare facilities as well as hot and cold water systems,
sanitary and storm systems; experience in designing fire protection
water systems, including underground piping, sprays, hydrants etc.
You will work closely with the technical team members, vendors, and
clients in producing final drawings and completing design tasks.
Qualified
candidates will possess 4+ years experience drafting and designing
plumbing and fire protection systems in the A/E environment. High
school diploma or recognized equivalent required. AA/AS degree
and/or technical certifications in mechanical design preferred. Must
have basic knowledge of applicable codes and general engineering
practices. Good communication and interpersonal skills are
essential. Demonstrated commitment to quality service and
engineering for internal/external clients are expected. Strong
AutoCAD skills are required to succeed.
